Our HITman (Human Image Target) is a unique reactive human silhouette shooting target made from AR500 steel plate,  made reactive by a system of heavy-duty hinges on the back-side of the shooting surface. The hinges are shielded from impact by the AR500 silhouette plate. Unlike other human simulation targets, or paper pictures, our reactive human silhouette target gives you the durability and audible report of AR500 steel plate targets, as well as a distinct visual confirmation of a successful hit. We have three HITman configurations. Our “Practical” model is a full-bodied human silhouette, made from either 3/8” or 1/2” thick AR500 steel. The 3/8” model is designed for pistol and small caliber rifle shooting. If you are shooting .308 from 100 yards or more, the 3/8” model will work well for you. If you shooting .308 inside 100 yards, or calibers such as 30-06, 300 win mag or shotgun, we recommend stepping up to the 1/2” thick model. Our “Tactical” model features the head and torso silhouette, with a heart plate and “T” zone plate configurations. Our “Tactical” version is available in 1/4” thick AR500 plate, for pistol shooting, as well as 1/2” thick plate for pistol, shotgun and rifles. Our “Outlaw” is a cowboy themed HITman with knock-down pistol and hat targets, in addition to the reactive parts found on our “Practical”. This version is available in 1/4”, 3/8” or 1/2” thick AR500 plate, with the caliber recommendations being the same as our other HITman target styles. All models include the same easy-to-assemble rack to hang the target from. We are now making the torso, torso target plates, heart plate, head, face target plate and the pelvis from ½” AR500 on all Practical and Outlaw models, with the exception of the pistol models. So a ⅜” model will only differ from a ½” model in the thicknes of the plate used for the arms and legs. You will get more movement from the ⅜” thick limbs, particularly with smaller calibers. While these targets are heavy, they are portable. The silhouettes can be taken down into segments without tools. The hanging rack can be dis-assembled to fit in a pickup bed in seconds, with no tools, and can be further taken down to fit in a car with wrenches. Our HITman is excellent for simulating close quarters tactics and self-defense situations, as well as shot placement training from close or long range, even less-lethal bean bag training. Be it practicing a kill shot on a “Tactical” HITman, an immobilizing shot to the leg or hip of a “Practical” HITman, or just some family fun ridding the west of “Outlaws”, our reactive silhouette provides isolated shot- confirmation and is far more engaging than paper targets or random shaped steel targets. With body armor becoming more common, shooting around center-mass is a necessary skill. The target plates on our HITman are designed to react and reset very quickly , so shooters can practice the “double tap” technique on the kill zones. We have thoroughly tested our silhouette targets with 12 gauge shotgun slugs, .223/5.56 AR and 7.62x39mm AK rifles from 35 yards, as well as 30-06 and 300 win mag from 100 yards. We test at short distances to ensure the durability of our design. Shooting at short distances does present an increased risk of splatter back at the shooter (we have had no injuries), as well as increased wear on the AR500 plate, including pitting from some calibers (our plates still last for 1,000s of rounds).
